About The Feducator

Thanks for taking an interest in my blog. My name is Chris Federinko, but some of my friends and colleagues call me “Fed,” hence the blog name. I’m a closet writer. I want to write, but often I’m too stubborn or scared to find the time. Teaching middle school English in Western Pennsylvania is my main hobby. I also enjoy hockey, cycling, food, and the outdoors. You may want to check out my Wildflower Blog as well.

Back to teaching and writing… I hope to find a writing niche here and supplement my career as an educator, where I value my professional relationship with students above all else. I wish to inspire writers and meaningful communication; both can solve the world’s problems.

My position as a middle school Language Arts teacher provides me with a unique opportunity to observe changes in my students and the educators around me. I’m searching for what makes a great teacher. Obstacles built by government hands and dynamic communities aside, I’d like to get to the bottom of good teaching while I’m still young and able.

Please discuss things with me. I’m open to your opinions. Remember that my views are not necessarily those of my employer or other affiliated organizations. I suppose I have to throw that out there. Sometimes it’s customary to end with a quote, so I’ll use this one from John Steinbeck: “I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.”
